CEM Short Film: Solar by the River | Althea Harding
The video showcases the importance of solar energy to my village, Kwebana, where households, small businesses and the community at large depend on solar energy.
The video was shot on the bank of the Waini River where the village is situated. It is one of the most remote villages in Guyana.
In the video, I highlighted the importance of renewable energy and that it is a cheap and clean source of electricity which bodes well for Guyana's low-carbon development strategy.
I decided to give my video the title ""Solar by the River"" since the village is situated on the Waini River and this source of energy is widely utilized in the community. It is also important since fuel prices have skyrocketed in recent years and this has heavily impacted the financial means of residents.
