Wednesday, 25 November 2020 | Bridgetown, Barbados The CARICOM Development Fund (CDF) and the Caribbean Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (CCREEE) today strengthened their partnership when the two regional institutions jointly launched two facilities intended to support sustainable energy projects within the Caribbean Community (CARICOM). The Caribbean region is set to benefit from significant investments in Renewable Energy (RE) and Energy Efficiency (EE) projects, with the rollout of the Credit Risk Abatement Facility (CRAF), a product of the CARICOM Development Fund (CDF), aimed at incentivizing investments in Small and Medium-Size Enterprises (SMEs), advancing RE and EE projects. On April 28th, 2021, the CDF signed its first Master Guarantee Agreement, to provide partial credit guarantee, through the CRAF, with the St Lucia Development Bank. Launch of the Project Preparation Facility and Credit Risk Abatement Facility November 25, 2020  CCREEE and the Caribbean Development Fund (CDF), jointly launched the Project Preparation Facility (PPF) and the Credit Risk Abatement Facility (CRAF). The PPF will provide technical assistance, advisory support, and financial matchmaking for regional energy project developers, investors, and financiers.
